Mayor touts city cattle drive

Edmonton - An urban cattle drive would be a great way to mark the city's centennial next year and celebrate the annual Canadian Finals Rodeo, Mayor Bill Smith says.

The mayor says he's going to pursue an idea that would see a long-horn cattle drive down 118th Avenue, down Kingsway Avenue and into the Skyreach Centre. While professional wranglers would be used to keep the cattle on the right path, Edmontonians could pay to take part in the drive, Smith said.
